bailout negotiations

John McShameless strikes again

It's obvious that John McCain has forfeited every ounce of integrity to win this election. Today on MSNBC's Morning Joe, McCain accused Obama of "phoning in" his input when it came to negotiating the bailout bill. If you recall, just yesterday McCain said now was the time for bi-partisanship, not finger-pointing, and his characterization of Obama is ridiculous. McCain said:

McCain is burned out and burning through his bag of tricks

Today on Fox 'News', John McCain was asked if he would be willing to suspend his campaign again, given how 'successful' his intervention worked last week (just goes to show how utterly shameless the Fox anchor-bots are if they could say that with a straight face). McCain swooped into town last Thursday afternoon to corral the House Republicans, who then promptly bailed on the bailout talks and ultimately voted it down by two-thirds. When discussing whether he would intervene again, a haggard looking McCain said:

McCain's first forray as leader of GOP fails miserably

When the House Republicans voted against the bailout bill yesterday, it was also a referendum against John McCain and his presumptive leadership of the Party. The Republicans seemed to outright reject McCain's intrusion in the negotiations and his posturing as a legislative leader who could save the day by his mere presence on Capitol Hill. As a result, McCain failed to deliver the votes he arrogantly assumed he could just by showing up.

McCain's double speak reaches new heights

John McCain is either senile, crazy or both. His Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde performance of last week continued into this week. Last night, McCain discussed the failed bailout bill saying:"Our leaders failed to act. Senator Obama and his allies in Congress infused unnecessary partisanship into the process. Now is not the time to fix the blame, it's time to fix the problem."
