In an interview late Wednesday, former DNC Chair Howard Dean reiterated his belief that the controversial “Ground Zero” mosque should be re-located, arguing that critics of his position were “guilty of” the same type of absolutism on the issue that they’ve accused Republicans of harboring.

What is the mindset inside the Obama White House these days? I’ve been wondering about this ever since Robert Gibbs went off on what he calls “the professional left” the other day. Not only did Michael Moore wind up talking with Keith Olberman n about this, but P aul Krugman (who I consider “professionally economically brilliant” as contrasted with “professionally left”) wrote about it as well. Now Robert Gibbs is no idiot. He may have said something he didn’t mean to say, but his frustration can’t be his alone.

Palin’s run-in with a former constituent

Smarmy condescension fairly drips in this latest Sarah Palin video: Over the weekend, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was in Homer, Alaska, to film her TLC documentary series Sarah Palin’s Alaska. Alaskan teacher Kathleen Gustafson decided to welcome Palin with a banner reading “WORST GOVERNOR EVER.” Upon seeing Gustafson’s handiwork, Palin walked over to talk with her.

Donnie Fowler: Make the Republicans Filibuster on Energy & Climate. Make Them Stand Up for Big Oil Day After Day, Night Afte

The Senate Democratic leadership said this week that there aren’t 60 votes to pass a climate & energy bill this year. “I don’t see 60 votes for it,” said California’s Dianne Feinstein. Last time I checked the Constitution, they only need 51 to pass something. So, you strong-willed and forward-looking Senate Democrats … Make the opponents, almost all of them Republicans, filibuster. Make them defend big oil day after day, night after night until they can’t speak any more ’cause their voices are raspy with exhaustion.

The following is most definitely NOT a transcript of President Obama’s monologue before the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday night… Do we have any folks from Arizona here? Let me see your papers. *** Where’s Carl Levin? Carl. Who do you think you are…..Rahm? I guess I’ve got to teach you what I tell my kids. The “s” word’s a bad word. You just can’t go around using it in public. Use different words.

David M. Abromowitz: Tea Party? Ha! More like Me Party

Without a hint of awareness of any contradiction, the Tea Party Express and headliner Sarah Palin recently gathered on the Boston Common, one of the oldest government-maintained spaces in America - to denounce government. They vented anger about a government doing too much. A strange complaint from self-styled patriots, given the crises this Nation is still facing: Two wars. Foreclosures rampant. Unemployment spiked to nearly 10%. Millions more underemployed. Small business owners afraid to invest more. Small banks failing, and large banks consolidating power.

Cross-posted from TruthDig.com . After days of protests over reform, the Obama administration has, in fact, created a change that many Americans can now see and feel. The new law, though imperfect, represents progress in a new direction. However, it seems that for this step forward some Americans have taken two steps back. The first step back took the form of angry racist and homophobic rhetoric aimed at Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., and Rep. Barney Frank , D-Mass., on March 20.

Coming soon to a hearing room near you: “Are you now or have you ever been a Socialist or member of the Socialist Party?” Sound familiar? “Socialist” has merely been substituted for “Communist”, but all of the same techniques are in play. I may be overstating her importance, but Sarah Palin frightens me. With her cutesy little homilies that spew venom and lies like “death panels” for the elderly, she appears to be acquiring a substantial following.

Have you ever argued politics with a conservative counterpart and felt as if you were speaking two different languages? Well, you were. In order to bridge the divide, we have developed some definitions in the hopes of making things a bit easier.
con-serv-a-tive [kuhn-sur-vuh-tiv] -noun: A liberal who has not yet figured out how to think for himself/herself.
