In a strong reflection of just how strong his standing remains within the die-hard conservative community, Texas Republican and 2008 presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul won the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll on Saturday, earning nearly one-third (31 percent) of the entire vote. The crowd, however, booed heavily when the results were announced.

In the first strong indication of where conservative hearts lie for the 2012 presidential race, Mitt Romney won the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll on Saturday, earning the backing of 20 percent of the crowd. It was his former Massachusetts Governor’s third straight win and followed a well-received speech to the CPAC crowd just one day earlier. The results of the CPAC Straw Poll provide a small, albeit interesting window into the affections and leanings of the conservative movement. Following Romney, the next largest vote recipients included, Louisiana Gov.
Poll: Palin GOP Favorite in 2012 - But Pollster Says Poll has No Value

A new CNN poll shows Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be the favorite for the Republican nomination in 2012. The pollster goes on to say the poll has no predictive value.
Well it looks like a Palin presidency is guaranteed. And with the Conservative Political Action Conference heating up in Washington, DC, this is sure to cause great excitement.
