AlaskaDispatch.com: Palin’s continuing drama
Posted June 25th, 2010 by impalin
On Thursday, when the time came for independent counsel Timothy Petumenos to give former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin her comeuppance for putting private fund-raising above the public trust, he picked as the venue the “Adventure Room” of the Hotel Captain in Cook in downtown Anchorage. The symbolism was almost as thick as the media that crowded the smallish space in the basement of one of the city’s long time cornerstones. The hotel was built by Wally Hickel after the Good Friday earthquake in 1964 destroyed much of Alaska.
Steven G. Brant: Wall Street, Nuclear Weapons, MLK Jr, and the Road From Ruin

Are We On The Road From Ruin Yet? This week, the stock market flirted with the 11,000 mark and the AP reported that “Unemployment rates fell or remained unchanged in two-thirds of the 372 largest U.S. metro areas in February”. And by “system” I don’t just mean economic system. I mean our social system, our culture.

President Obama dismissed criticism by Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin Thursday over his administration’s proposal to limit the use of nuclear weapons. Pointing to Palin’s lack of expertise on the policy surrounding nuclear weapons, Obama brushed off Palin’s claims that the move would make the U.S. more vulnerable. “I really have no response. Because last I checked, Sarah Palin’s not much of an expert on nuclear issues,” Obama told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos .
Evelyn Leopold: UN Reviews Climate Report — But Will It Appease Skeptics?
Posted March 10th, 2010 by impalin
UNITED NATIONS - It took a while for the United Nations to acknowledge errors by its Nobel-prize winning climate panel and order an independent review. But the study will not tackle past mistakes and probably will not change the minds of skeptics or Americans in a Luddite mode — despite overwhelming evidence from an overwhelming number of scientists that global warming is largely man-made. After ignoring negative disclosures, a spokesman for the U.N.
Andrew Sargus Klein: It’s Painful To Watch a Level-Headed Conservative Defend Sarah Palin
Posted January 15th, 2010 by impalin
Sarah Palin recently nabbed the spotlight in another news cycle regarding her upcoming speech at the National Tea Party Convention. Politico reported that the ex-Governor rakes in “$100,000 for each speech she delivers, though she gives a $75,000 discount for West Coast appearances,” and has “reportedly waived her fee for speaking at some charitable events.”. That’s some serious cash for the raging populist from Alaska.
